"Over the last few years I have headed the food waste section of the Clallam County Citizens Waste Reduction Group.  One of our priorities has been to get food waste composting systems into schools in Clallam County.

Early on we decided on using worm composting beacuse worms make the best compost and it provides a learning experience for the children on how worms recycle food waste into valuable compost that can be used to grow more food.  Several schools have vegetable gardens that use the worm compost.
