At Kingston Worm Farm, we supply red worms (eisenia fetida) by the pound. There are an estimated 1000 worms in each pound which are capable of processing up to their own weight in organic waste each day! We are capable of handling orders up to 100 pounds on a weekly basis. Using worms to process your waste can be done anywhere from a bin under your sink, in your yard or garden, next to your school, to behind your barn.
As they process organic waste, red worms leave behind castings, or worm poop. Unlike most other organisms, the saying "garbage in, garbage out" does not apply to these little wrigglers. Their castings come out nutrient-rich, toxin-free, and ready to increase plant growth, yields, and health in extrordinary ways.
Red worms are nature's waste-renewal units. They don't simply consume the waste, they turn it into something far more useful: nutrient-rich compost. Red worms cut the composting process down to a third of the time it would take without the presence of worms and eliminate the need to turn your compost! They actually remove or neutralize many of the toxins in the waste they process, including bacteria and E. coli.

Plants love castings! Castings are the result of worms processing organic waste. They act as a natural, high-nutrient, plant supplement and increase plant growth and health. For example, research shows that using castings increased vegetable yields of broccoli, tomatoes, and carrots by an average of 126%!

This is NOT for you to drink (although we have been asked)! It is actually a liquid delacasy for your plants. You can pour, drip, or spray worm tea on any of your plants. It is a natural herbicide, isecticide, fungiside (ex: black spot, rust, etc.), and works as a liquid form of worm castings.
Worm tea can be poured directly around plants with any watering can. It can also be sprayed onto plants with standard squirt bottles or personal fertilizer sprayers (we reccommend sprayers that have not come in contact with chemicals previously).
You can make this at home using castings, but if you wish to purchase it from us, we sell it at $10.00/gallon.
Our pledge is to share the knowledge about naturally disposing organic waste. We have done many educational talks for schools, businesses, garden clubs, girl scouts, boy scouts, 4-H clubs, and individuals. If you are interested in learned more about vermicomposting and its benefits to the earth, please contact us! We love sharing knowledge that will help heal the earth.
